Synopsis:

Behind her mask is a deadly secret . . .

The powerful head of the covert mercenary organization The Committee, Isobel Lambert is a sleek, sophisticated professional who comes into contact with some of the most dangerous people in the world. But beneath Isobel's cool exterior a ghost exists, haunting her with memories of another life . . . a life that ended long ago.

But Isobel's past and present are about to collide when Serafin, mercenary, assassin and the most dangerous man in the world, makes a deal with The Committee. Seventeen years ago Isobel shot him and left him for dead. Now it looks as if he's tracked her down for revenge. But Isobel knows all too well that looks can be deceiving . . . and that's what she's counting on to keep her cover in this international masquerade of murder.

*********
What a book...Wonderful!! there's lots of action, suspenseful twists and turns, and the characters just suck you into the story with both hands.

This is the story of Isobel Lambert, The "Ice Queen". She is the head of the Committee,an organization devoted to keeping our world from destroying itself...She has learned to be hard and capable of keeping a tight reign on her emotions. No one knows her true name or her real age or even anything about her.

And then there’s Serafin, known to Isobel as Killian, is a mercenary, assassin and the most dangerous man in the world...Isobel thought that she had killed him seventeen years ago and you can imagine her astonishment finding that he is alive...and that she still loves him.

This is the fourth book in the Ice series, and you meet up with Bastien (Black Ice, first book) and Peter (Cold as Ice, second) again. I was very happy to see them again. This way we can have a glimpse of what their lifes are now after all they had been through before they stopped working as mercenaries for The Commitee.
This romance is very hot...I highly recommend it.

Synopsis:

We encounter Scarpetta languishing in a crumbling little rental house in Florida. She has taken refuge there and become a private forensic consultant after she was driven from her job for her alleged involvement in the murder of a deputy police chief. The violent death of her lover, Benton Wesley, the brilliant FBI psychological profiler, has left her filled with an unappeasable grief. When the coroner in Baton Rouge asks her advice on a cold case concerning an affluent woman found dead of a drug overdose in a seedy hotel, it seems little more than a diversion. Yet it becomes clear that the overdose may be related to a fresh string of serial killings. Also disturbing Scarpetta's somber peace is a troubling letter from someone out to kill her, the sick and obsessed death-row inmate Jean-Baptiste.

When Scarpetta is at last allowed to get back to business, she is a feisty, independent powerhouse whose capacity to concentrate and observe rivals Sherlock Holmes's. But too much of this book is bound up in retrospective musings about events in previous books. The great Scarpetta, her fiery crime-busting niece, Lucy, and a colorful supporting cast deserve better.

I've read this book last year and my first impression about it was that it seemed to be very interesting book...It had the potencial...I really enjoyed it...I've seen a few bad reviews about it but I thought that it was good. About the ending I totally agree that it's a bit disapponting... It had a rush end. the author could have done a better end...But inspite of this I liked it.

Synopsis:

Taking a break from his phenomenally successful Alex Cross series, James Patterson's When the Wind Blows is as much child's fantasy as it is an adult nightmare.

The novel moves away from the gritty Washington, D.C., setting of the Cross books and follows the daily life of Frannie O'Neill, a Colorado veterinarian. After the mysterious death of her husband several years before, Frannie retreated to an isolated life in her Colorado practice. But a series of bizarre events suddenly disrupts her lonely routine. On a personal level, she is shaken by her new tenant--Kit Harrison.

Kit's too handsome and too friendly and he's a hunter (or so Frannie thinks). He's also recovering from a devastating personal tragedy, and, as Frannie eventually learns, he's really an FBI agent using his vacation to follow a crucial lead. But Kit isn't the one that's got Frannie concerned. As she says after stopping her Suburban one night to check out something on the side of the road: "What I saw was way beyond my abilities to imagine, beyond my comprehension, my system of belief, and maybe beyond my ability to communicate right now. The little girl's arms were folded back in a peculiar way, but when she lifted them--feathers fanned out."
The girl is Max, and the mystery of her wings leads Frannie and Kit into a massive conspiracy involving secret genetic research and the scientific manipulation of the human species.

I had never read any book from James Patterson but a friend lent me this one saying that I might like it... When I read the text on the back cover I thought that she had lent me another romance...but I was wrong. Well, it has romance involved but the true story is about Max, the child with wings and her little friends back at the hospital where they were being held since birth. It was a good reading though...with a very intriguing plot.

DENVER, 2007. Caitlyn Coryell is having a really bad day -- she just discovered her fiancé with another woman! He offers a simple yet outrageous adventure: travel to his time, marry him, and return home.
But nothing's simple when Cate is trapped in the thirteenth century. The wedding's delayed, someone's trying to kill her, and in the middle of all this, she realizes she's falling in love with a man who can only be her husband for thirty nights.

This is a great debut from Ms. Mayhue...I waited a lot to read this book and I wasn't disapointed...It is a enchanting story...There's a suspenseful plot in the middle of the romance and a surprise villan...I totally advise you to read it. You will love it!

At the moment I'm finishing the book "Thirty Nights with a Highlander Husband" by Melissa Mayhue which is a VERY good book...I truly recommend it! But I have several other books to read after this one, like these:

Despite what Tristan may think, Alexandra knows he is the only man for her, and she is determined to do whatever it takes to change his mind...

This book was not the usual historical romance...The romance was there but it had a mystery story involving the male characther which made the book even more interesting...and it was cute the recepies that the autor included in the beggining of every chapter...Lovely.

Synopsis:
A Royal Pain...

The illegitimate daughter of a prince and a notorious courtesan, Lucia has been confined to schools and convents for most of her life. But that hasn't stopped her from causing one scandal after another. Exasperated, her royal father decides that his exquisite hellion of a daughter must be married immediately. And Sir Ian Moore, Britain's most proper diplomat, is the perfect man to choose her a groom.

Diplomacy, not matchmaker, is Ian's forte, but he vows to get Lucia married off as soon as possible so that he may return to his real duties. Yet, despite an abundance of very eager, worthwhile candidates, none is a match for Lucia's spirit and fire. And the more time Ian spends with the infuriating beauty, the more reluctant he is to marry her off. Could it be that he has already found Lucia the perfect husband...and it is Ian himself?

When I began to read it I thought that it was going to be a fun reading and I wasn't mistaken...It's a enchanting story. It was my first book from Ms. Guhrke and I really enjoyed. Well, the plot is not something new but it was quite refreshing...He have a passionate, headstrong, caring and emotional Italian heroine and a handsome, stuffy, uptight strong hero who present the image of a "perfect diplomat"...and when they both meet...It's fascinating to watch how their relation grows...I truly recommend it!

Synopsis:

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he'd proposed, figuring that she'd be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except… she wasn't. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her…and more.

Did he think she was mad? Eloise Bridgerton couldn't marry a man she had never met! But then she started thinking…and wondering… and before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match. Except…he wasn't. Her perfect husband wouldn't be so moody and ill-mannered, and while Phillip was certainly handsome, he was a large brute of a man, rough and rugged, and totally unlike the London gentlemen vying for her hand. But when he smiled…and when he kissed her…the rest of the world simply fell away, and she couldn't help but wonder…could this imperfect man be perfect for her?

Well,I didn't knew what to expect from this one...I really thought that after the previous two, that Julia Quinn could not do it again...but I mistaken. I really enjoyed this story. Finally the mystey envolving Eloise desappearance in "Romancing Mr Bridgerton" is revealed...She had travelled to met the man who had become her penfriend..and the man who had asked her in MARRIAGE BY LETTER!! yes, by letter...could you imagine this? and she went to met him without knowing him and without none of her siblings knowing...Wonderful story...I highly recommend!

Crisscrossing the continents and the centuries, here is a novel as gripping as it is sensual--an electrifying adventure that will leave you breathless....I am Dageus MacKeltar, a man with one good conscience and thirteen bad ones, driven to sate my darkest desires…

Well...I was really anxious to read this one because in the last book of Karen Marie Moning we get to know that something happened to Dageus, Drustan's twin. Now the mystery is solved...Dageus used the Druid's power to save his brother's life...but because of the power he used his body was "invaded" by the spirits of dark ancient druids who had once been banished of the planet. In spite of this, Dageus is still alive. As the darker spirits try to take advantage of him to gain a "body" he is tries to find a cure to send them back to where they were in the beggining...

Synopsis:

Setting: Regency England
Sensuality: 7

Penelope Featherington fell madly, hopelessly in love with Colin Bridgerton two days before her 16th birthday. Unfortunately, Colin has always seen Penelope as the plump, shy best friend of his younger sister. By the time Penelope is 28 and a seasoned member of the English ton, she's accepted that her love for Colin is destined to remain unrequited and she shall be a spinster forever. Fate, however, has other plans. When Lady Whistledown's Society Papers announce that Colin has returned from his nearly nonstop travels, Penelope is blissfully unaware that her life is about to change dramatically.

Colin is equally unaware of the turn his life is about to take. He's not surprised that his beloved mother is determined to marry him off, but he's rather astonished to find himself inexplicably drawn to Penelope. Her dry wit and intelligent mind are delightful, and Colin soon finds himself joining forces with her to deflect his matchmaking mama's good intentions. Together, the two will thwart their mothers' iron wills, face the formidable Lady Danbury, confront the gossips of London society, and resolve the lovely dilemma of falling in love. And, oh yes, there is that matter of the true identity of Lady Whistledown. Will the twosome unmask the elusive journalist? Or will their efforts be doomed to failure like so many others' before?

My review:
Well, I was really anxious to read this one...I had already read the previous books so I was wondering how Colin's story was going to be...and I wished that he would end up with Penelope, the one who was secretly in love for him...And the most important is that the mystery that involves Lady Whistledown is finally reveled...what I can say about this book is that it's a LOVELY romance...don't miss it :)

Miss Sophie Beckett is the illegitimate daughter of the earl of Penwood. Raised in his home, Sophie has a tolerable existence until the earl marries, when her life takes a distinct turn for the worse. Sophie's new stepmother hates her, and when the earl passes away, she relegates Sophie to the role of servant. Sophie's days are pure drudgery, until one night her fellow servants conspire to help her attend a masquerade ball.

Her life changes irrevocably when she meets handsome Benedict Bridgerton and falls head over heels in love. Benedict is equally smitten, but when the clock strikes midnight his beautiful mystery lady runs from him, leaving only her glove in his hand. He searches London for her, but she seems to have vanished. What Benedict doesn't know is that Sophie's stepmother has discovered her outing and thrown Sophie out of their London townhouse. Sophie leaves London, and it isn't until three years later that Benedict and Sophie's paths cross once again, when he saves her from the unwanted attentions of a drunken lord. Sophie recognizes Benedict immediately, but much to her dismay, he doesn't know her in her maid's dress. Soon, however, Benedict falls in love with Sophie all over again. Believing her to be a servant, he cannot conceive of a way to make her his, as she adamantly refuses to become his mistress. Both struggle with their feelings for each other, their unwillingness to compromise their principles, and the seemingly insurmountable wall separating a member of the nobility and a servant. To add to their difficulties, Sophie's vindictive stepmother discovers her presence in London and sets out to make her life even more miserable. It will take the combined force of the large Bridgerton family to help these two stubborn people realize a happy future together.

This is the best of the Bridgertons novels!...It's a very interesting book with a very emotional a sensual story...It's a kind of Cinderella story with a beautiful happy ending...*sigh*

Synopsis:

Elenora Lodge loses the manor to which she was born and thus becomes the eponymous paid companion. She is, of course, plucky, intellectual, democratic, lovely and unabashedly eager to surrender her virginity to the right man: "Sensation whipped through her; a glorious, heady, dizzying whirlpool of passion. She knew that if she did not explore these thrilling emotions with him she would carry the regret with her for the rest of her life."

The source of the whirlpool is Arthur Lancaster, earl of St. Merryn, cranky, quirky, decent to the death, with a sizable fortune and lusty nature to match. Although a happy ending is never in doubt, a murder mystery is threaded through the love story, allowing the besotted couple to sleuth in dark alleyways between tumbles in bed. Quick draws on Regency fascination with science to inform villainous madman Parker, who styles himself "England's second Newton" and terrorizes Elenora with a precursor of the laser. Masked balls, upper-class gambling, women who manage their own affairs and marry for love: if this is familiar territory, it still satisfies. And when Arthur proposes, readers will be right there with Elenora: "The most delicious sense of joy unfurled within her."

My review: Well, this one was captive...I was so intrigued about the mystery...I was a bit refreshing from several books that I already read...From the beggining we know that they will fall in live for each other...but it is very amusing to read their atempts to hide it...lovely story...

Synopsis:

'Bella?' Edward's soft voice came from behind me. I turned to see him spring lightly up the porch steps, his hair windblown from running. He pulled me into his arms at once, and kissed me again. His kiss frightened me. There was too much tension, too strong an edge to the way his lips crushed mine - like he was afraid we had only so much time left to us.

As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

Following the international bestsellers Twilight and New Moon, Eclipse is the much-anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's captivating saga of vampire romance.

After reading the previous two books I was very anxious to know how the story would continue... I asked to one of my friends to buy it for me but she surprised me by offering it to me :) She was very sweet to do it... 600 pages...well, that didn't scared me. But,anyway, this book was about the choice Bella had to make...and now I can't wait to read the last of the series, Breaking Dawn where I think Bella and Edward will get married because in Eclipse they got engaged and she will finally be turned to a vampire so that she can be with her love for eternity...*sigh*

But...one thing that I didn't enjoy was the fact that it seemed like the story had stopped...It looked as if Bella couldn't decided what was obvious for us readers...that her heart belonged to Edward...but that Jacob had become a very good friend that perhaps if she hadn't met Edward they could had something more than a simple friendship.

Especially the woman who is getting dangerously under his skin as the lethal game crosses the Pacific to the remote and beautiful mountains of Japan, where the truth can be as seductive as it is deadly....

My review: Another book of the "Ice" series...Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down...this is the story of a deadly hero in a steamy relationship with a strong woman that he doesn't want to want or love but ends up doing everything to save her...to keep her next him even though he tries to push her away, but then realises that he can't...

Synopsis:

A laird trapped between centuries...

Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he’d ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world. Drustan knew he had to return to his own century if he was to save his people from a terrible fate. And he needed the bewitching woman by his side....

A woman changed forever in his arms...

Gwen Cassidy had come to Scotland to shake up her humdrum life and, just maybe, meet a man. How could she have known that a tumble down a Highland ravine would send her plunging into an underground cavern — to land atop the most devastatingly seductive man she’d ever seen? Or that once he’d kissed her, he wouldn’t let her go? Bound to Drustan by a passion stronger than time, Gwen is swept back to sixteenth-century Scotland, where a treacherous enemy plots against them ... and where a warrior with the power to change history will defy time itself for the woman he loves....

This was my first book from Karen Marie Moning and I absolutly loved it...The story is very funny and emocional at the same time...I'm looking forward to reading her next books about the sexy Highlanders :)

My review: This is another amazing book from her "Ice" series...The story and the romance are very well written....the story holds you until the end...and you will wish for more when you get to the final page. This story is not only about one of the Stuart's Bad Boys but also about the heroine.Genevieve is a wonderful and strong characther, she never gives up and she's always fighting back...It was also good to watch the Iceman's (Peter Jensen) heart getting melt... :)

Synopsis:

Colonel Jake McAllister doesn't doubt that Maura Phillips has the qualifications and the know-how to handle a spot on his all-male, high-tech team at Elgin Air Force Base. As the test pilot in charge of top secret stealth weapons development, he's more worried about what's going to happen when her "free spirit" is introduced into the project's touchy pressure-cooker environment.

He'd been expecting to meet a buttoned-down engineer in a severe blue suit, which is why he's not exactly sure what to make of the leggy California girl with riotous curls, funky clothes and clunky jewelry who comes flying through his door. He soon concludes the lady is deadly serious about her job-and a deadly threat to his self-control.

One beautiful military romance...If you're looking for a romance like Harlequin romances this is a good choice...And it brings a bonus, the first chapter of a new story :)

Synopsis:
Paen Scott is a Dark One: a vampire without a soul. And his mother is about to lose hers, too, if Paen can't repay a debt to a demon by finding a relic known as the Jilin God-in five days. When he hires half-elf private investigator Samantha Cosse to help him, he sets her elf senses tingling. Which makes it pretty much impossible to keep their relationship on a professional level.
Especially since Sam is convinced that she is Paen's Beloved-the woman who can give him back his soul, whether he wants it or not...

I really thought that this book was going to be a good reading because I was in a mood for reading vampire romances after reading Twilight... But the fact is that it was a disappointement because I was expecting a book with more story from the characters...
